Case Study | Lujo Luxury Living

Lujo Luxury Living, a luxury furniture store in La Marina (Finestrat), faced a crisis. After a collection update, all product images disappeared from their Shopify webshop. Their designer had been working on the problem for 8 weeks without results. The supplier and stock inventory software provided no useful feedback.
For a webshop: no images means no online sales.
The technical problem I had no Shopify experience yet, but problem-solving thinking is my strength. My analysis revealed that the supplied images were downloadable items, not inline. Shopify only accepts inline images.
The first solution seemed to work: a stock image application that caches images and makes them inline via redirect. Until the supplier shut down their server due to overload and added extra security.
The solution I developed a CDN proxy server worker at Cloudflare that retrieves all images (including security), caches them, and uploads to Shopify via a stock sync application. Additionally, I added extensive product descriptions and dimensions - more information means fewer questions and more sales.
The result From 8 weeks of downtime to a fully working webshop. All images are visible, the webshop is operational, and I continue optimizing the site for better conversion.
