From artistic dream to digital reality
About the developer behind Costa Wave Web Design
As a teenager I had three dreams: sports academy, police, or graphic design school. A torn ACL at 15 ended sports and police dreams. Graphic design school? My mother saw the connection to art and thought of her father - an artist with unstable income. I couldn't explain that graphic design is different from art academy. Now, years later, I work as a web designer on the Costa Blanca and help entrepreneurs in Benidorm, Altea, La Nucia, Albir, Alfaz del Pi, Calpe, Denia , Javea and online through whole Spain and The Netherlands realize their digital vision.
THE DETOUR
After years in commercial roles, I finally wanted to do more with creativity while being mentally challenged. Self-taught, I started learning web design through online courses from major American institutions. My first project? Going big immediately with a 3D solar system in JavaScript. From WordPress websites to Next.js applications and Shopify webshops - I discovered that programming and design work perfectly together.

THE LEAP
June 2023: the move to Spain. I knew from childhood I didn't want to grow old in the Netherlands. Spain always attracted me. Sometimes all the puzzle pieces fall into place. This move gave me the strength to completely change course and do what I always wanted. Now I work as a web designer and developer for businesses on the Costa Blanca.
MY PHILOSOPHY
Everyone deserves a website that presents their business professionally and actually works for you. A good website is more than putting design blocks together. Visual hierarchy, color schemes, fonts, speed and responsiveness all matter. I believe in custom work for every project, regardless of size.
WHY NEXT.JS?
Next.js is a modern framework that lets me build both simple and complex websites quickly. By coding myself, I have full design freedom. The Vercel platform invests heavily in development and AI integrations, which is crucial for future-proof websites that rank well.
PERSONAL TOUCH
My motto? 'If there's no way, I'll make one.' In my free time I do fitness, golf, boxing and photography. My dog Shiba, a Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix, is just as independent and stubborn as I am. Perfect match! I often take her to the beach or the nature around La Nucia and Albir.

My favorite place? A beach with wide dune areas. The Costa Blanca perfectly combines work and life. Here I can be creative, stay active, and build websites for entrepreneurs who, like me, pursue their dreams.
